Training

Our Clients have differing needs regarding Training. 

We begin by ensuring that all of our Clinicians undertake the mandatory training expected for Nursing and Care staff.

We look at a Clinician’s area of expertise, skill and experience and tailor a training program that is appropriate. We assign each Clinician a personalised skills matrix to ensure compliance with the Clients and Care environments in which they will work.

We split the matrix into Essential Training and Desirable Training.

We then offer our Clinicians access to all of the courses that we have available. 

Essential Training includes all of the mandatory training and also Client specific requirements.

Essential Training must be completed prior to placement. 

Desirable Training will include other training courses that we consider to be valuable and that may be of interest to our Nursing and Care Staff. 

Desirable Training is not compulsory but does all contribute to continuing professional development. 

We also tailor training and have worked with Clients to write courses specifically for them ensuring that the messages our Clients wish to deliver are undiluted and convey accurately the information, process and procedure to be followed.

We offer many extra training courses such as Catheter Care, Venepuncture, Cannulation, Anaphylaxis, VTE to name but a few. These practical courses are available to both Clients and Clinicians.

We send out links to Training that our Clinical Lead and Lead Trainer identify as useful, current and relevant to our individual Clients.

We offer workshops where Clinicians share best practice and reflect on the service we are delivering.

In appraisal we identify training that our Clinicians are interested in and implement valid suggestions.

We work with multiple training partners such as Tallowood Training and The National Learning Centre. 

All training is aligned with the Core Skills Training Framework.
